2010 Volvo C30 Polestar Concept

After the double victory in the 2009 Swedish Touring Car Championship, Volvo have invited Polestar to develop a concept C30 incorporating everything learned from the successful race car. The C30 Polestar Concept offers a glimpse at possible future versions of Volvo cars with Polestar tuning and branding applied, to become the performance arm of all Volvo cars into the future.

The C30 has undergone some changes with the front wheel drive setup replaced with a Haldex gen 4 all-wheel drive system complete with Quiafe limited slip differentials front and rear. The engine chosen was the reliable Volvo 2.5L Inline 5 turbo, which provides plenty of power at 405 hp and 510 Nm of torque. Aero elements were based directly off the race car, with suspension tuning upgraded in cooperation with the race teams partner Öhlins.

Volvo and Polestar have delivered one of the fastest most exciting hot hatches of the time, with a brilliant blue paint job and looks that hint at the cars performance potential. Such a shame it remained as a concept only and never went into production.
