Description

Singer Vehicle Design, the people who make some of the best 911 restorations have teamed up with Williams Advanced Engineering to create its Dynamics and Lightweighting Study (DLS). Made from a 1990 Porsche 964 donor car, the DLS has been thoroughly restored and modified, producing a truly stunning car. Every surface has been meticulously re-created with light weight carbon fiber versions, and then assessed using computational fluid dynamics in the search for less drag and more downforce.

As the name suggests, the DLS was made with light weight in mind due to the requests of the cars owner. Though Singer has yet to provide a weight for the car, one can assume the number would fall well under that of a regular 964 911. The 4.0L naturally aspirated flat 6 engine has been tuned by Williams to deliver a peak power output of 500 horsepower at 9,000 rpm. This was achieved with lightweight throttle bodies, F1-inspired upper and lower injectors, dual overhead cams with four valves per cylinder and a trick lubrication system.

The team at Williams didn’t stop with the engine, tweaking the suspension setup and supplying a bespoke six-speed manual transmission too. Debuting at the 2018 Goodwood Festival of Speed. Only 75 examples are to be built, which means you have probably already missed out.
