Description
Nissan’s new Z car will go racing in Japan’s Super GT series for 2022, replacing the ageing GT-R. After 14 seasons of competition and 41 race wins in Japan’s flagship Super GT race series, the GT-R is finally bowing out making way for a new generation racer based on the seventh generation Z.
As per GT500 regulations, the 400 hp 3.0L twin turbocharged V6 from the road car has been replaced by a 2.0L direct-injected four-cylinder petrol engine with a single Garrett turbocharger. This race prepped engine develops 250 hp more at 650 hp in total which is all sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed sequential transmission.
