2020 Morgan Plus Six

The launch of the Morgan Plus Six signals the start of a new era for the brand, with a new chassis and running gear setting the stage for their future. The Plus Six uses the new CX-Generation platform, with the CX referencing the 110th anniversary of Morgan. The chassis is a bonded aluminium construction, 100& stiffer than the previous version and should see the Plus Six become the most capable Morgan to date.

Backing up the new chassis is a change of powerplant with Morgan opting to use BMW’s B58 turbocharged 3.0L inline 6, which develops 340 PS (250 kW) at 6,500 rpm and 369 lb-ft (500 Nm) of torque from 1,600 to 4,500 rpm. This marks the first time Morgan has used both an inline 6 engine and a turbocharger in one of their cars. The 8-speed ZF automatic transmission offers Sport, Plus and Manual modes for the driver to select, and give the ability to shift gears manually with either the steering wheel mounted paddles or gear leaver. 0-62 mph is achieved in a brisk 4.2 seconds thanks to the Plus Six’s light 2,370 lbs (1,075 kg) dry weight.
