2022 Mini John Cooper Works 24h Race Nurburgring

First the first time in 10 years, Mini are returning to race at the 24-hour Nürburgring with a specially prepped John Cooper Works Mini. 2022 will mark the 50th edition of the iconic race at along the Nordschleife, and this Mini will be raced by Bulldog Racing, a privateer team competing in the SP3T class.

Being a proper race car, the interior has been stripped out to fit a full roll cage and single OMP race seat. The glass has been replaced with lighter Makrolon in the window panes, and the volume of the fuel tank has been increased to 100 liters for more laps between re-fuelling stops.

The engine is a 2.0L turbocharged 4 cylinder that produces 302 hp and 331 lb-ft of torque which is sent to the wheels via an eight-speed Steptronic gearbox. Stopping power is thanks to some M Performance brakes from BMW, and a mechanical differential lock has been fitted for optimal torque distribution.
