2020 Mini John Cooper Works GP

The 2020 Mini John Cooper Work GP has the honour of being the fastest road car ever produced by the brand. The GP which is based on the 3-door mini has been blessed with a 74 hp power increase over the existing Mini John Cooper Works, with peak power no totaling 302 hp. This is certainly the top of the Mini line-up, which they say is ‘uncompromisingly geared towards extreme driving pleasure’.

Peak torque is rated at 450 Nm, which is available from 1,750 rpm right the way to 4,500 rpm. This extra power and torque is thanks to increased boost pressure form the turbocharger, which required the engineers to reduce the engine compression down from 10.2:1 to 9.5:1. 0-62 mph can be done in 5.2 seconds, and the top speed is listed as 165 mph.

The car will be built in Oxford and be limited to a run of 3,000 units worldwide.
