2021 McLaren Elva

McLaren have added another Ultimate Series car to their line-up, revealing the Elva, an open-top speedster that is the brands lightest model to date. The Elva now sits along side the P1, Senna and Speedtail, making four cars total in McLaren’s top-tier category. This is the first open-air entrant into this category, with the Elva focused more on enjoying the open road rather than track times or top speed.

The bold move with the Elva is the complete removal of any roof, no folding hard-top or soft-top stowed away beneath the bodywork, just open air driving all the time. Ferrari have already been down this road just recently with the special edition Monza, now it seems McLaren want some of that action as well. At least there’s the usual 4.0 twin turbo V8 powering the show, which is tuned to 804 hp in this guise. Torque is rated for a peak output of 800 Nm and the 0-62 mph acceleration will be done in under 3.0 seconds, and 0-124 mph in 6.7 seconds. No official weight figure has been given yet, but McLaren have assured us that the Elva is their lightest ever. We can then assume that the weight will be less than 1,328 kilograms, which was the weight of the 675LT.
