2023 Lotus Type 62-2 Pikes Peak Edition by Radford

British coachbuilder Radford are set to tackle Pikes Peak with a modified 700 hp Type 62-2. After revealing their modern take on the Lotus Type 62-2 in 2021, the reborn marquee has turned its sights to the 2023 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb with a special one-off build and Tanner Foust at the wheel.

The 3.5L supercharged V6 may be the same as the road going vehicle, but only the original block of the engine remains with everything else having been upgraded. Total power output is now rated at 700 hp, with a paddle-shifted sequential transmission handling the duties of changing gears. It remains rear-wheel drive and should hit a 0-60 mph time of 2.2 seconds and a top speed of 160 mph, a speed that is likely held back by the big aero elements all over the car.
