2017 Jaguar E-Type Zero Concept

Jaguar has infused their restored classic E-Type with an electric motor and battery pack, in the effort to future-proof classic car ownership. Great attention has been paid to making sure the original weight balance and distribution remains as close as possible as from the factory in the 1960’s. The powertrain was specifically developed for the E-Type Zero, with the battery pack made the same size as the original XK six-cylinder engine in the E-Type. This was then placed in the same location and the electric motor sits where the old gearbox was placed. The total output of the system is 200 kW, allowing a 0-100 kph sprint of just 5.5 seconds, which is helped by a weight reduction of 46 kilograms.
