Description

To send off the last Australian built Holden Special Vehicles tuned Commodore, HSV has re-introduced the iconic GTSR nameplate and gone berserk with the power output. The GTSR badge was first used on the 1996 VS Commodore, now HSV are using it for three of their models including the top line GTSR W1, GTSR Maloo and GTSR Sedan.

The new look is lower & wider with a more more muscular stance continuing with HSV’s bolder styling choices compared with the normal Holden Commodore. The wide gaping front splitter assembly looks mean coupled with the big 20 inch wheels and huge brakes.

In the engine compartment, the GTSR W1 features a hand built LS9 supercharged engine originally found in the C6 Corvette ZR1. Highlights include a big 2.3 litre supercharger, forged aluminium pistons, dry sump and carbon-fibre airbox. Also of note is the power output of 635 hp and a whopping 815 Nm of ground splitting torque. This propels the GTSR to the top of the HSV ladder as the most powerful ever.

“With the MY17 range being the last of the Zeta platform product (GEN-F range), our intentions were always to send the platform off with a bang and the content we have delivered is central to that plan”, said HSV’s Managing Director, Tim Jackson.

“We’re confident we’ve delivered our best product ever, and the greatest performance cars ever produced in this country”, he said.
