2019 Hennessey Venom F5

With a potential 301 mph top speed the new 1,600 hp Hennessey Venom F5 could be the new king of the road, breaking many records along the way. Replacing the Venom GT, Hennessey have added 356 more horsepower and 197 Nm of torque to the twin turbocharged V8, which has been enlarged to 7.4 litres. Featuring a new completely bespoke chassis, the F5 boasts a slippery 0.33 drag coefficient thanks to the streamlined design and flat floor, that’s 0.11 less than the GT which was based off the Lotus Elise platform. The combination of light weight and slippery aero results in a simulated top speed of 301 mph, breaking through the magical 300 mph road car barrier. That would place the Venom F5 clearly at the top to the table, as Bugatti has yet to complete a top speed run for the Chiron.

Further performance predictions include 0-186 mph in under 10 seconds and 0-249 mph in under 20 seconds. Compare that to the Koenigsegg Agera RS which manages the 0-249 run in just under 27 seconds. Clearly if the Venom F5 can back up these claims, it will set itself apart in the hypercar market. Pricing will start at $1.6 million, with a further $600,000 worth of options to spec when the car starts shipping in early 2019.
