2022 Ford F-150 Lightning

Ford’s first all-electric pickup truck will be the quickest F-150 to date, with over 560 horsepower and 0-60 mph done in 4.4 seconds. The 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning is a big step towards not only Ford, but the car industry as a whole in moving into electric vehicles. As the best selling truck for the last 44 years, the Lightning stands as a huge shake-up for the much loved badge.

The good news for lovers of the internal combustion engine is that Ford will release the Lightning alongside the regular F-150, essentially it will become a new entry in the product line-up. With that in mind, Ford are equipping the Lightning with plenty of enticing specs to drive buyers into this new world of an EV truck.

Two battery options will be available which are coupled to front and rear electric motors providing all-wheel drive. The standard battery has a range of around 230 miles and develops 426 hp, while the extended battery ups those numbers to 300 miles and 563 hp. Torque is rated the same 775 lb-ft for both configurations, as well as a maximum payload of 2,000 pounds and towing capability of up to 10,000 pounds.
