2021 Ford F-150 Raptor

Ford’s all-new third generation F-150 Raptor has arrived with a turbocharged V6 engine and a possible high performance R version later in 2021. Once again the Raptor has been fitted with Ford’s EcoBoost V6 engine instead of a V8, with power levels expected to be around the same 450 hp as the previous generation, with Ford yet to finalise their figures for the 2021 model.

Ford’s 10-speed automatic transmission has been tasked with sending power to all four wheels where each axle has a standard locking differential, with the option of a secondary Torsen limited-slip differential on the front axle. The standard F-150’s live rear axle has been upgraded to a five-link independent configuration providing maximum suspension travel with 24-inch coil springs, and adjustable FOX Live Valve dampers.

In a world where supertrucks are starting to appear from various manufacturers, Ford has been caught napping a little with the new F-150 Raptor. To combat this trend, Ford has already announced the V8 powered F-150 Raptor R for the 2022 model year, which should include a lot more power to take on the likes of the Ram 1500 TRX.
