2019 Ford GT Carbon Series

Ford has released the lightest version of their GT Supercar yet, with the Carbon Series making it’s debut at the 2018 SEMA Show. As the name suggests, Ford has made good use of carbon fiber throughout the car with the highlight coming with the all carbon fiber wheels. Other weight saving measures has been used with titanium lug nuts and exhaust system, and a polycarbonate engine cover and rear hatch. The interior has lost the cup holders and the driver’s side seat storage bin for a couple extra kilograms saved. All up the weight savings over the normal Ford GT comes to 18 kilograms. Certainly not a significant amount, with Ford opting to retain the air conditioning, radio and infotainment system.
