Description

Ferrari Roma, a surprise new 2-seater GT coupe with over 600 horsepower and 198 mph top speed. It will join the V8 and V12 powered GTC4 Lusso’s in Ferrari’s GT range and sit above the Portofino and below the F8 Tributo in the family tree. The Roma forms part of the 15 new models Ferrari are planning to release between 2018 and 2022.

Setup in a front-mid engined layout, the Roma utilises the same twin turbo V8 engine from the Ferrari Portofino. Power has been increased by 21 horsepower to a new peak of 620 PS (456 kW), with torque remaining the same but now peaking earlier at 3,000 rpm. Power is sent through the eight-speed DCT gearbox from the SF90 Stradale, providing super fast shift times and helping achieve a 0-62 mph sprint of 3.4 seconds.

The styling of the Roma “characterises the way of life in Rome in the 1950s and 60s” according to Ferrari, with cleaner lines and less bodywork openings than the usual Ferrari design. The interior seems to focus more on luxurious finishes than carbon fiber, resulting in a cabin space that should be a nice place to enjoy the drive from.
