2020 Ferrari F8 Tributo

This is the new mid-engined V8 supercar Ferrari F8 Tributo, the direct replacement for the brands best selling model, the 488 GTB. Whilst sharing the chassis and powertrain with previous 488 models, Ferrari have placed a lot of attention on the styling of the car. The design was penned at Ferrari Centro Stile, their in-house department and features many design cues from the 812 Superfast and Portofino. As is usually the case with Ferrari, aspects of the styling were determined by the aero requirements including the front mounted S-duct. this duct increases downforce over the front axle and smooths out the airflow over the cabin.

The engine package is same that is used in the 488 Pista, meaning peak power of 720 PS (530 kW) and peak torque of 568 lb-ft (770 Nm). Ferrari is quoting a 0-100 kph sprint of 2.9 seconds, only very slightly slower than the Pista at 2.85 seconds. The extra 50 kilograms of weight is likely the main factor here. There are big expectation for the F8 Tributo, with the 2-seater mid-engined model acting as the anchor in the sales of the Ferrari line-up. Without any big changes Ferrari is hoping the new styling and continued lure of the badge will result in a sales success.
