2023 Ferrari 499P

After nearly 50 years Ferrari are finally returning to endurance racing with their 499P Le Mans Hypercar. This is the Italian brands first top-class endurance racer since 1973, after being loured back by the new LMh-class. Built with a bespoke carbonfibre monocoque and hybrid powertrain, Ferrari have leant on their knowledge gained over the years of developing its hybrid Formula 1 cars.

During the initial development of the 499P, Ferrari considered both V12 and V8 engines as part of their new hybrid system. What they settled on is a bespoke 120-degree 3.0L twin turbo V6 engine that is coupled with a 268 hp single electric motor located on the front axle. Combined power output will not exceed the limit of 671 hp, and the minimum weight needs to tip the scales at just over 2,270 lbs.
