Description

The Dodge Challenger Hellcat has received the widebody kit from the new Dodge Demon, making room for bigger tyres with more grip and faster acceleration down the drag strip. The wider fender flares add an extra 3.5 inches to the width of the standard Hellcat, housing the new “Devil’s Rim” split-five spoke aluminium wheels that are 20 x 11-inch in size wrapped in wider 305/35ZR20 Pirelli P-Zero tires. Also new to the Hellcat line up is a new electric power steering (EPS) system that uses different selectable drive modes allowing customisation of the steering feel and response.

The extra grip provided by the bigger tyres has helped the Hellcat widebody to run the quarter mile drag quicker than any stock hellcat before. A run of 10.9 seconds was recorded beating the previous 11.2 seconds. 0-60 mph acceleration has also improved clocking in at 3.4 seconds compared to the old 3.5 second run.

“The new Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Widebody completes our strongest Dodge muscle car lineup in history,” said Tim Kuniskis, Head of Passenger Cars – Dodge, SRT, Chrysler and FIAT – FCA North America. “Our brand, engineering and design teams poured a ton of effort into making the new SRT Demon the world’s fastest quarter-mile production car, so now we’re leveraging that know-how, and some of those vital elements and transferring them to the new Challenger SRT Hellcat Widebody for improved performance on the street and a bolder, more aggressive new look.”
