2018 David Brown Speedback GT Silverstone Edition

David Brown have launched the Silverstone Edition of their highly bespoke Speedback GT, translating into 100 more horsepower, 100 lb-ft more torque and 176 kg of weight removed. The Speedback GT starts life out as a now defunct Jaguar XKR, to which David Brown Automotive transforms into a classic looking car from the 1960’s which is very similar to the always pretty Aston Martin DB5. This classy look is what sets the Speedback apart from the crowd, combining modern levels of luxury, performance and reliability with the look and feel of a 60’s sports car.

The power increase of nearly 100 hp and 100 lb-ft from the supercharged V8 takes the Speedback GT onto new performance levels, with plenty of power available at all times. The top speed is still limited to 155 mph, but 0-60 mph acceleration in now down to 4.2 seconds. Although the performance numbers are nothing to sneeze at, for the buyers of the Speedback GT it doesn’t tell the whole story. David Brown Automotive have created a good looking bespoke car that harks back to the days of the Jaguar E-Type and Aston Martin DB5.
