Another new electric vehicle start-up has arrived and this time it comes from the land of Sri Lanka, everybody meet the rather good looking, Vega EVX. The company is called Vega Innovations and they first unveiled the prototype EVX in 2017. That car generated over 900 horsepower and ran from 0-60 mph in just 3.5 seconds. Now the production version has arrived and Vega have toned down their ambitions a bit to deliver a more sensible performance vehicle.
The twin motor powertrain now develops 406 PS (298 kW) of power being fed by a 55 kWh battery pack that could be replaced by a larger unit after launch. Range is expected to reach 150 miles per charge, which would obviously increase with the higher capacity pack installed.
On the styling front the EVX is very successful, featuring a sharp looking design that is reminiscent of the upcoming Tesla Roadster. It’s low slung with good proportions, big wheels and a giant light bar that stretches from side to side across the rear of the car.
