Lancia’s rally-bred 037 is the centre of attention with Kimera Automobili who have unveiled their EVO37 restomod. Based in Cuneo, Italy, Kimera aims to bring together the styling and emotion of the Group B rally inspired road car with more modern technology and comfort.
The engine chosen for the job in the EVO37 is a 2.1L inline 4 unit that is turbocharged and produces around the 500 hp mark, and sends drive to the rear wheels like the original. It is based round the original engine block of the 1980’s 037, which has been increased in capacity slightly and been adorned with redesigned or reverse-engineered components to develop much more power than before.
The styling of the EVO37 is a close representation of the original, with a more defined edge and cleaner lines. Overall it has strong 037 vibes while looking a little more modern and higher tech.
