2020 Apex AP-0 Concept

Apex have revealed their first in-house designed offering called the AP-0, an electric carbon fiber tub sports car that features 650 horsepower and 320 miles of range. The design is certainly striking in appearance with cameras replacing the side mirrors mounted in what looks like wings protruding from the pronounced front wheel arches. The whole car sits low like any good concept car should, though the extended front nose and splitter looks like it could be ripped off at the sight of the first speed bump.

The performance of the Apex AP-0 is in no way lacking, with a light kerb weight and strong power and torque figures. Acceleration from 0-62 mph will take a claimed 2.3 seconds, which is seriously quick. The 90 kWh lithium-ion battery is likely to achieve a good driving range on a single charge, and the carbon fiber tub with modular spaceframes should ensure a stiff chassis. APex says the Ap-0 has been developed for track use as well, with attention paid to the aerodynamics for plenty of downforce to suck the car to the tarmac.

Buyers can expect deliveries of the production version to start around the end of 2022.
