2022 Aston Martin Valhalla

The Aston Martin Valhalla will be the British brands all-new mid engined supercar ready to rival the Ferrari SF90 with a 937 hp hybrid powertrain. The Valhalla was originally shown off in 2019, promising a hybrid setup with a turbocharged V6 at it’s heart. Fast forward two years and the plan has changed a little with an AMG sourced 4.0L V8 now the favored choice for the internal combustion engine part of the hybrid system.

That flat plane crank V8 alone with it’s twin turbo configuration will develop 740 hp, and take the crown as the most advanced and highest performing V8 engine ever fitted to an Aston Martin. It will be combined with two electric motors fitted to each axle that produce a combined 214 hp, bringing the total system output to 937 hp. Drive is sent through a new eight-speed DCT gearbox that does without a reverse gear leaving the job to the electric motors.

Performance should be brisk, with the Aston Martin Valhalla launching from 0-62 mph in 2.5 seconds and capable of going all the way to 217 mph. Aston are aiming for a Nürburgring lap time of 6 minutes 30 seconds, which would cement it’s place as a very capable car on the track.
