2019 Aston Martin DBS Superleggera

Aston Martin have revived the Superleggera name with the return of the DBS, a 715 horsepower V12 GT car set to take on the Ferrari 812 Superfast. Based on the DB11, the 2+2 seater DBS Superleggera only shares the glass house and doors, with the remaining body panels all new. The aluminium and carbonfibre bodied DBS shines as a step forward for the original DB11 styling, which was a new direction for the company when it was released.

Power from the 5.2L twin turbocharged V12 peaks at 715 hp at 6,500 rpm, with torque totaling 664 lb-ft from 1,800 rpm through to 5,000 rpm. The drivetrain utilises a new eight-speed ZF automatic gearbox equipped with a carbon prop shaft and mechanical limited-slip differential out the back. The wheels are unique to the DBS coming in at 21-inches and wrapped in 265/35 and 305/30 Pirelli P Zero tyres. The combination of deep front splitter and air dam at the front with Deeper side strakes and a double diffuser with aeroblade down back, the DBS Superleggera can generate 180kg of downforce. That’s the highest ever produced by a production Aston Martin to date.

The DBS Superleggera is set to take the top dog position at Aston Martin until the bonkers Valkyrie arrives and becomes the companies new hero car.
