2018 Aston Martin Valkyrie

Aston Martin have provided updated details about their upcoming F1 inspired Valkyrie hyper car, improving the aerodynamic efficiency while adding even more downforce. First seen in 2016 as the AM-RB 001 Concept, this insane race car for the road is a collaboration between Aston Martin and the Red Bull Racing Formula 1 team. This means a road car that is as close to the F1 driving experience that we have seen.

Notable changes are in the form of a reprofiled rear diffuser and floor section, roof top mounted air intake and different smooth wheel design. The majority of the downforce generated will come from the Venturi tunnels that run either side of the cockpit floor. These draw a huge amount of air beneath the car, feeding the giant rear diffuser and allowing the top sections of the body to remain free from extra aero devices that would spoil the aesthetics.

These updates are not the end, with further changes expected before the car moves onto the prototype stage where all the fine details will be ironed out. Expect to see the production ready Valkyrie some time in 2018.
