Description

From the ashes of Gumpert, Apollo has risen. This is the Apollo Intensa Emozione hypercar set to take on the Koenigsegg’s and Pagani’s of the world. Powered by a big 6.3L V12 that revs to 9,000rpm and is built by Autotechnica Motori, the IE has plenty of power with 780 hp on tap. With this powertrain Apollo is bucking the trend of forced induction and hybridisation, opting for the purer responsive nature of a naturally aspirated engine that screams all the way to redline. The package is completed with a six-speed sequential gearbox sending power to the rear wheels.

At the core of the Apollo IE is a bespoke carbon fibre chassis, which much like the LaFerrari, uses fixed position seats with adjustable steering wheel and pedal box. All four corners feature three-way adjustable Bilstein dampers which complement the double wishbone pushrod setup. Carbon ceramic Brembo brakes should provide plenty of stopping power as well. With a light kerb weight of 1,250 kilograms, the IE with get the 0-100 kph sprint done in just 2.7 seconds and onwards to a top speed of 333 kph.

The styling of the car will be its main selling point, making even Lamborghinis look tame in comparison. Highlighted by plenty of folding and curving carbon fiber, it certainly looks aggressive on the road or track. Apollo is claiming a massive 1,350 kgs of downforce is generated over that bodywork at speeds of 186 mph. Only 10 units are set to be built, with each subject to extensive personalisation options.
