2025 Alpine A290 GTS

Alpines long awaited addition to its line-up has finally arrived in the form of the A290 GTS hot hatch. Using the same platform and bodyshell as the Renault 5 E-Tech, the Alpine A290 features plenty of changes that should cement it as a real competitor in the electric hot hatch game.

The GTS is the top performing trim, coming with 215 hp and 221 lb-ft of torque from a single e-motor fed by a 52 kWh battery good for around 236 miles of range. On the styling front, Alpine have increased the width of the car by 2 inches, fitted bigger 19-inch wheels, and designed a much more athletic appearance overall. The sides feature an indent on the rear doors that hark back to the side intakes of the 1980’s Renault 5 Turbo, and the front houses four lights which has become a signature for the brand.
