2021 Alpina BMW XB7

Alpina have developed the XB7 an even more performant, luxurious version of the large BMW X7 M50i. The XB7 marks the first time Alpina have released an SUV model in the United States. It will join the B7 sedan in their line-up for the states.

The standard BMW X7 M50i uses the 4.4L twin turbocharged N63 V8 engine, which Alpina have tuned to develop an additional 60 horsepower and 37 lb-ft of torque. The figures now total 612 hp of power and 800 Nm of torque. This has helped the XB7 shave off 0.5 seconds from the 0-62 mph sprint time, which now clocks in at 4.2 seconds. The top speed has also been increased with the limiter raised from 155 mph to 180 mph.

These power gains are due to Alpina’s work on the turbochargers, cooling and exhaust system. They have also upgraded the wheels, tyres, brakes and suspension to better cope with the extra performance. The styling is typical Alpina, with subtle tweaks that make the XB7 look a little more sophisticated and refined. It’s a nice looking change for the X7, and of course features the iconic Alpina double chin grille on the front.
