2020 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio

Alfa Romeo have revealed their 2020 Giulia Quadrifoglio in a virtual launch, showing off their performance sedan in a beautiful Montreal green finish. Performance hasn’t changed for the updated model, with power and torque from the twin turbo 2.9L V6 engine remaining the same. That means a healthy 510 PS (375 kW) of power and 442 lb-ft (600 Nm) of torque. What is new is the choice of an Akrapovi exhaust system in titanium with carbon fiber tailpipes, which Alfa states provides an even more sophisticated sound.

Most of the upgrades have been focused on driver assist technology, with the 2020 Giulia Quadrifoglio now capable of level 2 autonomy. Level 2 is currently the highest level permitted on a production road car, which means acceleration, braking and steering can all be controlled by the car under certain circumstances. This requires the driver to maintain hands on the wheel at all times, ready to take over the controls.

Other driver assists included are lane keep assist, active blind spot assist, active cruise control, traffic sign recognition and intelligent speed control, traffic jam assist and highway assist, and finally driver attention assist. That’s quite a mouthful, but it all serves to improve the safety of car and bring Alfa Romeo’s offerings into line with other automakers.
