1969 Alfa Romeo Junior Z

Featuring a futuristic design for the time, Alfa Romeo’s Junior Zagato was an elegant modern wedge shape that drew mixed feeling when initially revealed in 1969. Now it is considered one of the great little Alfas with it’s little aluminum alloy inline 4 engine with great handling and grip.

Penned by Ercole Spada, the chief of design at Zagato, the Junior Z was built on the Spider Duetto platform to be part of the Giulia model range as the sportier, faster alternative. Production was limited with only 1,510 examples made in total, all finished by Zagato in Turin. Most used the 86 hp 1.3L engine but around 402 cars got the bigger 1.6L unit, meaning more power and torque for even better performance.
